Review - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Posted on October 21, 2010 at 9:19 PM Comments comments (0)

Here the most epic review I've ever made. On my favourite game ever: Uncharted 2. Is it epic? Epic doesn't even describe it! Just an all around HOLY $H!7 game that's so B4DA$$ even Duke Nukem will be like: OMG!

First off here is the story. Once again (assuming you are familiar with Uncharted 1) Nathan Drake is back on an epic adventure. I don't wanna spoil the story for you if you haven't played it so if you don't want a spoiler, skip this paragraph. Even if you do know the main plot of the the story, it's still fun to play through due to all the twists in the story. Ok, back on topic, Nathan Drake is back on an epic adventure following the footsteps of Marco Polo (rather then Sir Francis Drake in the first game) in search of treasure.

The entire game feels like you are the main character in a great action movie.

Some great parts of the game are the story, characters, and awesome motion-capture cutscenes. The story is excellent if not perfect and the entire game feels like you are the main character in a great action movie. The characters are all great, with some returning characters there are a few new ones, and all of them develop more throughout the game. Even if you missed the first game, the old characters will still develop. Cutscenes, and almost all actions in the game were done with motion-capture suits so all the motions in game are superb and the voice acting comes in the same package. Gameplays voice acting is hilarious, you'll be hearing stuff like "Kitty got wet." and "I will kick you to sleep!". It's a blast. I can't really think of any weaknesses in this game, that's how good it is.

The gameplay of Uncharted 2 are those of a cover shooter, but that's not all. You got lots of climbing to do as well. Get up close to an enemy and you can go for a melee attack. These moments are slow-mo and extremely satisfying with an awesome and simple attack and counter system. Another little thing in Uncharted are treasures, these things are little shiny objects to collect throughout the game. So if you want all the in game achievements and/or a platinum trophies for Uncharted 2, You might have to replay this game a few times to get all your achievements.

Awesome and simple attack and counter system.

This game has a lot more than achievements and an epic adventure. You also have online whish is still supported, concept art, developer videos, a and a huge store. Uncharted 2's multiplayer online is really good, unlike CoD (Call of Duty) where if you're a high level you can get a cheap weapon, in Uncharted 2 everyone starts with a basic weapon. You have to find the good weapons. There is also boosters (Similer to perks in CoD) which give you things like carrying more ammo. I just think Uncharted 2's online is very fair compared to other multiplayer games I've played. Then there is the extras, like skins, cheats (singleplayer only), tweaks (slow-mo, black & white, etc.), concept art, and other developer videos.

Anyway, overall, GET UNCHARTED 1 & 2 (10/10)! Don't have a PS3? Get one for Uncharted! I bet you won't be disappointed. If you are, I'm disappoint in you... :(

One of the funniest movies I've seen in a while.

What happens when you put two of the top comedians in one movie? Gut busting good laughs, that's what. Steve Carell and Tina Fey are amazingly funny together.

The story of this movie isn't that great but that's not really why you would watch ths movie is it? It's hilarious from start to finish but it get carried away at times.

Phil and Claire Foster (Steve Carell and Tina Fey) are a married couple from New Jersey with two children whose domestic life has become boring and routine. Phil is a tax lawyer while Claire is a realtor. They go out and take someone's reservation, things take off from there.

It's just a hilarious comedy, just watch it. No doubt, JUST DO IT!

An epic movie, you probably already knew it.

Can James Cameron make something as epic as Titanic? Yes.

Avatar's story isn't brand new and just changes the people and places. The story goes like this: person joins other people (Natives) to give info to other people (Humans) but ends up liking these people. Resulting in fight for them (Natives) against these people (Humans).

All the Avatars look amazingly realistic.

Avatar is almost completely special effects yet looks totally realistic. I don't need to explain much because anyone who reads this review has probably seen it.

A great cast and memorable character

You should see Avatar, it doesn't matter if you don't like Sci-Fi movies. You will enjoy this, it is epic.

Review - Warfare 1944

Warfare 1944 is my favorite flash game ever.

Can a flash game be better than a console game? With Warfare 1944, it can. Following the story of the U.S. Forces or the German Army, you can experience the action like never before.

Warfare doesn't have a brand new, never before seen story or anything. It' like I said at the beginning, you follow the U.S. Forces or the German Army through WWII.

I'm going to put screenshots in reviews now. ConArtists' breathtaking art.

The best part of Ware fare 1944 is how realistic it looks and the simple yet satisfying gameplay.  The graphics and art are excellent as usual from ConArtists Games making it look great and a great system. The battlefield has three rows in which you can deploy units with RP (Resource Points).

The battle of Normandy.

Warfare 1944 is one game in a growing series and the sequel to Warfare 1917 (I may review it two.). Warfare 1944 may last you a long time, after you beat one campaign you will want to play the other. Then onto hard mode, and this game has a custom battle mode so this game has a lot of things to do. It may not last you a long time but you will find your self coming back for more every once in a while, I have already beat the U.S. Campaign three times on regular mode and once on hard mode.

If you want a fun strategy flash game, I definitely recommend Warfare 1944 for its excellent graphics and simple and satisfying gameplay.

Mmm, very cheesy.
Red Steel 2 is almost as cheesy as its predessesor but exceeds in everything else. You won't hear as many cheasy lines but it makes up with it's addicting and almost perfected gameplay. Instead of these set shooting and sword fighting sections you will find yourself constantly switching. This is actually a good thing, but later on they start getting a little over balanced. Depending on wether you spent all your easy to find cash on gun upgrades or sword upgrades changes how you play. You may find yourself almsot only using the sword or mostly using your guns. You can't always be using your guns only which keeps it a little more balanced.

The story is all about revenge, we've seen this before.

The enemy balance is the worst part. You'll find some enemys super weak and others, powerfull enough to cut half your HP in a single chop of the sword or shot of the gun.

SPOILER ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The final boss in this game, Shinjiro is the weakest enemy in the entire game. The samuris and ninjas you face befor ehim are stronger and harder.

Review - V for Vendetta

Very cool and it keeps you thinking.
V for Vendetta has a story that is epic. It makes me want to read the comics and reminds me of Watchmen. It is a little similar to Watchmen but slightly simpler. The character V is as memorable as Rorschach and is a bad-ass. V's actor was great, he memorized some great speeches and many cool lines. I enjoyed the action and explosions but there wasn't much of either. Also, the girls acting wasn't very good and the detective was retarded at the end.

If you are looking for a fast paced action movie, this isn't the movie for you. If you like a decently complex story with memorable character and explosions, I recommend this.

Cool.
This movie was just what I expected with a few, derails. I good story funny characters and awesome action. Sherlock Holmes is quite entertaining.

I really found it cool when it showed the fights in slow motion. This story was good but there were a few unexplained part and pointless parts. My review for this is quite short because I watched this almost a week ago and I can't quite remember it very well.

Review - Jason and the Argonauts

Jason and the Argonauts is a movie to remember.

Can an old movie have outstanding special effects? Jason and the Argonauts can. With a classic storyline from Greek mythology and mind-blowing special effects to top it off, Jason and the Argonauts is a movie to remember.

If you don't know the story of Jason and the Argonauts, it's an action-filled adventure following Jason on his quest for the Golden Fleece. To get to it, he must travel across the world. He gathers the strongest men in the land and they set off. Their journey is filled with mythical creatures like hydras and living skeletons. To overcome these, Jason will need the help of the gods.

The best part of Jason and the Argonauts is the special effects. The old special effects look even more realistic than today. This is because they were done with real objects (mini models) using stop-motion and not computers. Stop-motion technology is done by moving an object/model in small increments while taking pictures each time. The pictures are then connected making the object/model appear to be moving. One scene using models and stop-motion is Jason's battle with skeletons; when filming this scene the actors were not actually fighting anything, then the skeletons were added to the film for the final picture.

Jason and the Argonauts is just one of many Greek mythology movies in a series. This series includes movies like Sinbad and Clash of the Titans, which all have as much action and special effects. So if you want more movies like Jason and the Argonauts, you can get more.

If you want to watch a good adventure movie, I definitely recommend Jason and the Argonauts for it's classic story and mind-blowing special effects.

Review - Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver

An epic game that will keep you busy.
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver for me is the best Pokemon game so far. I know it is a remake but I have never played the original Pokemon Gold/Silver. So this is all new to me and it is incredible. The 3D buildings have improved a lot since Diamond and Pearl and it still has that Pokemon style. The touch screen menus are a great change and are much more convenient than always having to use buttons. The game sound is not the best, the music is all good like in Diamond and Pearl but it still uses screechy 8-bit sounds on all the pokemon which doesn't quite fit in. The gameplay is same as always but you may be able to tell that it seems to have less wild Pokemon. It brings a little from every game and is a true sequal to Blue, Red, and Green. This may be because the game would be too long since there are 16 badges in total for this game. This game will last you a really long time spanning 2 regions with 16 badges. The Pokewalker is a nice little gadget that can train your Pokemon without the DS. Overall, this game almost meets all my Pokemon Game expectations and I recommend it to any Pokemon fan.

A nice band with lots of songs.
The Stereophonics, a very popular band in the UK with 9 albums and a large number of singles. They played at BC Place in Vancouver for a Victory Ceremony. The quality of sound at BC Place is pretty bad which made a few of their songs just sounded like a loud clump of sounds. Some of these songs are really great but most of them just sound too similar. I probably would have enjoyed it better if it wasn't so loud and the sound was better quality.
